Online webinar/Workshop: Dip Your Toe into Online Teaching

This was an online webinar/workshop designed for those teachers who had no experience of providing synchronous online instruction but wanted to start it. You can view the slides below or download the powerpoint.

A novice online teacher has many factors to consider and make sense of: what tools to use, how to use them during the session, how to set up and manage tasks. This webinar was intended to address these complexities and help the participants to start developing online teaching skills. I described the tools available and provided tips and ideas about using them.

Webinars often turn into online lectures as it is challenging to organise interaction during such events. To increase participation and engagement, I included several interactive tasks. There were polls, questions for the audience to type the answers into the chatbox, and even tasks which involved collaborative use of an online board in real-time.
